We were tremendously honored to host guests from around the country and a full room of men of all ages from across the Diocese of St Petersburg for our celebration of the Feast Day of San Gennaro! Fr Richard Gennaro Cipolla shared a beautiful personal story on his love and devotion for San Gennaro and the importance of spiritual friendship between men with Jesus Christ as the Third Person in that relationship.
The night began with Vespers, Benediction, and Confession.
We were incredibly grateful to Felice’s Pork Store and Italian Deli for a beautifully prepared meal, our volunteers who helped us arrange a festive and comfortable room for our guests, and our sponsors who made the evening and all of our events possible.
We were humbled to be joined by Brendan Young, the Executive Director of the American Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George. Brendan explained why he was in attendance the background of the Chivalric order.
We made several exciting announcement including the presentation of a check to a parishioner towards his Sacred Heart billboard campaign, the announcement of a donation to secure new Roman Purple Vestments, and a new event during the Octave of All Souls at the American Legion Veterans Cemetery in Tampa. However, our proudest announcement was that of our new devotional Procession in 2024 in honor of Madonna Del Lume including a Vara donated by the Madonna Del Lume Society of Milwaukee. This devotion has roots back to Palermo, Sicily with a history of celebrations from San Francisco to Milwaukee to Mexico, Brazil, and the Philippines among many other locations.
We concluded the night with a Rosary Auction whereby we auctioned off items donated by Tradflags.com, Birra Nursia, Glory Bee Designs, Rugged Rosaries, and Top Shelf History in exchange for decades of the rosary with the intention of praying for our Parish, our Diocese, Bishop Parkes and all of the Bishops of the United States, as well as the Traditional Latin Mass all over the world!
As always our night concluded with a Bonfire rosary followed by coffee, dessert, and cigars.
Our next event will take place on Thursday, November 9th when we welcome Canon Matthew Talarico, ICKSP and Canon Aaron Huberfeld, ICKSP in celebration of Martinmas. Following that event will be a Parish-wide Mission on the Spirituality of St Francis De Sales!
We hope to see you there!
