Today is November 1st, All Saints Day, a day to remind us of our ultimate goal during our pilgrimage as the Church Militant. For most we will not attain Heaven with the Church Triumphant upon death but rather we will spend time being purged of our sins as members of the Church Penitent.
Let us pray for all the dead awaiting their place in Heaven.
Please say this short prayer each day during the month of November for the Poor Souls in Purgatory.
My Jesus, by the sorrows Thou did suffer in Thy agony in the garden, in Thy scourging and crowning with thorns, in the way to Calvary, in Thy crucifixion and death, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory, and especially on those that are most forsaken. Do Thou deliver them from the dire torments they endure. Call them and admit them to Thy most sweet embrace in Paradise.
+Amen
One Our Father.....One Hail Mary......Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
~Amen~
